🧠 Smart Puppy Program: Weeks 1–6

Early Foundations for Confident, Clean, and Well-Mannered Puppies

Our Smart Puppy Program is designed to give every puppy the very best start in life. From birth through 6 weeks, we introduce age-appropriate learning, enrichment, and early potty-door training to build confident, clean, and well-adjusted puppies ready for their new families.

🍼 Week 1: Comfort, Routine & Early Stimulation

• Puppies stay warm, safe, and close to mom.
• Begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to support brain development.
• Gentle human handling daily to build trust.
• Establish steady feeding and sleep routines.

👂 Week 2: Sensory Awakening

• Eyes and ears begin to open — introduction to soft sounds and gentle touch.
• Short periods of human interaction to build familiarity.
• We have soft lighting throughout the night so they always feel safe
• Clean bedding routine begins to separate sleep from potty areas.

🐾 Week 3: First Steps & Early Potty Door Introduction

• Puppies begin walking and exploring their environment.
• Introduction to a small potty area within their 48” x 48” Whelping box
• Begin additional feeding for pups with Puppy Mush to get them stronger and happy tummies.
• Soft toys, tunnels, and enrichment mats added for confidence building.
• Begin socialization with gentle household sounds:
  • TV
  • Vacuum at a distance
  • Kids voices
  • Normal daily activity

🏡 Week 4: Structured Learning

• Expanded play area for coordination and bravery.
• Begin crate introduction (door open) so puppies see it as a safe space.
• Supervised interaction with age-appropriate toys and textures.
• Puppies start learning simple routines:
  • “Come, puppies!”
  • Group feeding manners
  • Gentle handling for grooming

🚪 Week 5: Potty Door Training With Curiosity and Beginning Confidence

• Potty door training becomes something the babies are learning from their Momma
• Puppies learn to move in and out of the door without hesitation.
• Outdoor potty area is reinforced as the primary bathroom spot.
• Exposure to new sounds, surfaces, and safe outdoor experiences.
• Puppies begin crate nap rotations to prepare for their new homes.

By 6 weeks, puppies have a strong foundation and are eager learners!

• Confident going through the doggy potty door on their own.
• Majority of pottying happening outside, with fewer accidents.
• Puppies respond to simple positive-tone commands:
  • “Let’s go outside!”
  • “Good potty!”
• Socialized to different people, play structures, and textures.
• Comfortable with baths, nail trims, brushing, and gentle handling.
• Excellent exposure to:
  • Kids
  • Normal home noises
  • Safe outdoor play
• Early charting of personalities and temperaments
